The obsession over national polls for President needs to stop. Why? Because they mean nothing. No, really. They are meaningless.
Anybody who knows how the process even works knows that the President isn't elected by national popular vote. It was designed that way on purpose to make sure one or two areas of the country didn't have the whole say in who the President would be. The candidate can lose the national popular vote and still win office because he wins the bi-polar states that can't decide if they like freedom or not.
Instead of looking at national polls, we should be concentrating on individual states that matter. Florida, Ohio, and states that went for Obama that shouldn't have, like Virginia and North Carolina are where polls matter. Pennsylvania, which elected conservatives to both the U.S. Senate and their governor's office in 2010 also could play a key role. And the last time I checked, Obama was getting shellacked in Ohio and wasn't doing very well in the other states mentioned either.
The point is we know California and New York state are going to go for Obama. We know Texas is going to go to the Republican nominee. The question is, what are the so-called swing states and aberrations like North Carolina going to do? The answer at the moment is kick Obama's rear to the curb come November.
EDIT: So apparently some, including Mark Levin have found updated polls showing Romney trailing Obama in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. I've never been comfortable with a Romney-Obama contest because of Romney's weakness when it comes to socialized medicine. I'm still holding out the hope for a brokered convention.

2012 Presidential Primary, March 15th
It's been hard for me to write updates on the 2012 Republican primary. Honestly, the entire process has made me sick to my stomach.
In a year where all the issues are falling on the side of conservatism, two of the four remaining candidates are spending the majority of their time smearing the other two instead of doing their due diligence in convincing me (and others) to vote for them.
Mitt Romney is the biggest offender, and Ron Paul is a close second. It was estimated in Florida that 95% of Romney's ads were negative attack ads against Gingrich instead of telling voters why they should vote for him. He did the same thing in 2008 against people like Fred Thompson, Rudy Giuliani, and Mike Huckabee.
And these millions spent on attacks and smears have prompted the need to respond, and not always in the best way, either. So instead of the issues, we talk about what might or might not be the truth about personal attacks, instead of where each man stands on the issues and how he's going to defeat Barack Obama, the socialist.
And this, more than anything, perhaps even more than his standing next to Ted Kennedy calling his "collaborator" on 'RomneyCare', is what makes it impossible for me to vote for Romney in this primary. And while I'm acutely aware that Obama needs to be defeated and will have to hold my nose and vote for him in the general election if he's the nominee, many, many people will refuse to do so because he has alienated so many people with his smugness and attitude. That number of alienated and pissed off people may exceed even the appalling number of 2008 when McCain was the coronated nominee by the elites in their own minds. Because unfortunately there are still many people who are not engaged and are uninformed, and don't realize the imminent danger of letting Obama be re-elected. And all those people see in Romney are a rich guy with good hair that thinks he's entitled to the nomination because he's "next in line".

So it was "Plan See I told you so"
So it wasn't Plan A, or Plan B. It was Plan "See I told you so". (Wish I could take credit for that, but that's the intellectual property of Rush, and his book by the similar name).
Anyway, as I've already gone through in the last post, that "Boehner plan" was just the vehicle for the Senate watering down of everything, and here we are, with that "great and wonderful" deal passed and the stock market is tanking by 250 plus points. Must be great, eh?
Just more of the same. No cuts this year, no cuts next year, and promises to cut miniscule amount starting in 2013 that will never materialize. Except maybe the military gutting part. The left wing radicals love gutting the military.
And of course we have the Ministry of Truth (otherwise known as the media such as the NY Times and Washington Post) running around saying this was a victory for the TEA party and fiscal conservatives while at the same time using the same inflammatory rhetoric like calling the fiscally sane among us terrorists and hostage takers showing their outrage that the hard left wasn't able to get even MORE tax increases on top of the massive Obamacare taxes slated to begin soon enough to run business even further into the ground. Meanwhile the EPA and other agencies are busy spitting out regulation after regulation shutting down power plants and coal mines and many other businesses under the radar.
The only sane people in this country left are those that are aligned with groups like the TEA party for spending cuts, baseline budgeting reform, and deregulation. While it's true that there's tens of millions of people already on the team, it's unfortunate that there's not nearly enough representation in Congress to reflect this large number of people. I just hope the weak and feckless leadership of the Republican party hasn't undermined the momentum of the movement. But from what I've seen, anger is dwarfing apathy, and there's going to be a lot of Republicans paying a huge price in the next Congressional elections. And I'll be just one of many of those people working to those ends.

More 2012 News
It looks like Sarah Palin is finally getting ready to enter the 2012 Republican Primary race. News is out now that she contracted with conservative filmmaker Stephen K. Bannon to produce a series of videos exposing all accomplishments and successes of her time in office as Alaska governor. The statist press that continually trashes her on a regular basis has never really quite gotten around to that ever, and would have people believe she sat around and did nothing for two and a half years other than running with McCain for the VP nomination in 2008.
Finally Palin will get a chance to tell her side of the story to a wider audience than she reached even with her best-selling books at a time when the race for the nomination is finally beginning to get started. Without the interruptions and trashing. With the entrance of Palin, and the anticipated entrance of Bachmann, that brings the race up to four excellent conservative choices, which is a far cry from the lonely one that 2008 saw in Fred Thompson.
The poll referenced in the previous post on political momentum showed Palin with almost universal name recognition but with only slightly over average positive momentum. Once she starts actively campaigning and she's out there in her own words more often, she will see that positive rating rise, as a big factor in her languishing where she is: the belief that she wasn't going to run.

2012 Republican Nomination News
Even with all the hype about Obama being unbeatable and polls saying this, 42% of people think he doesn't deserve re-election. It's just that people are de-spirited and don't think there's anyone worth voting for, just like 2008. However these people haven't met Herman Cain yet. The man has the charisma of an Obama with the true American substance to back it up. For those of you in the US that still have not gotten to know who Mr. Cain is, I would suggest you do.
According to recent polls, Cain is fast gaining the most momentum toward the nomination. Yes, it's early yet, but no matter what happens, it's a story unto itself that people are signing on in droves to a business friendly candidate that hasn't been polluted by years in politics and ready to support him as a presidential candidate. From winning the first GOP debate a few weeks ago to surging ahead of even people still pining for the liberal Christie, it looks good for Cain.
Besides, why should people be so de-spirited they don't think a guy that doesn't even know what year it is can't be defeated?

2011 Budget Passes House; America Loses Again
After seven months of being delinquent, today the House of Representatives finally passed the 2011 Budget. Unfortunately, it's a loser for the nation as no real cuts were made upon examination of the final legislation. The final result: about $350 million in cuts. Yes, that's right. Million. If this was a state budget, that might be a meaningful cut. However we're speaking of the over bloated federal government budget that totals around $3.8 TRILLION dollars. This is so meaningless it's pointless to calculate the percentage as it's so far under 1% it's laughable. Include the fact that that "one time" stimulus spending has been built into the budget "permanently", it's inexcusable that any fiscally sane person would vote for this.
Conclusion: Only 59 Republican incumbents deserve to be re-elected in 2012 in the House.
In fact, they're the only ones that deserve to be re-elected in the entire body. All the Democrats that voted against the bill did the "right" thing for the wrong reasons -- they believed it actually cut TOO MUCH.
Boehner doesn't deserve to be in the House of Representatives, let alone be Speaker. He threw away his biggest political weapon in the negotiations (a government furlough of non-essential employees and services) before the negotiations even started. He also low-balled the original cuts at about 2.6% of the $3.8T budget, then quickly got whittled down from there. Anyone who has ever purchased a car knows negotiating tactics better than the current Speaker of the House.
So the result: another trillion plus dollar deficit, which can't even be explained as being put on a credit card -- because a large chunk of this "financing" is coming from printing money, and purchasing our own debt through Federal Reserve shenanigans since nobody else will buy it anymore due to the reckless irresponsible spending that has been occurring the last few years 2007-2010, and now by virtue of incompetent and spineless politicians in the House, 2011.

The 28th Amendment to the Constitution
The 28th Amendment to the Constitution has been proposed, and it's a good one. All 47 Republicans in the Senate have signed on to support a Constitutional amendment that would fix the financial problems in the country from getting any worse -- overnight.
The biggest aspect of the amendment states that the federal government can spend only 18% of the nation's GDP unless a declaration of war has been made. This by itself is huge in that it would immediately reduce government spending from the outrageous rate of 25% of GDP that it is now under Obama, to 18% .. lower than it was during the Bush Administration.
Other aspects of the amendment include needing super majorities of Congress to raise taxes and the debt limit, requiring Congress to balance the budget and the President to submit a balanced budget. This amendment will finally force the spendaholics to put a finite amount of money where it is needed most -- prioritize in other words -- just like we have to do in the real world. And since there's a cap on spending, statist "liberals" will not be able to balance the budget by increasing taxes and spending at the same time -- they can only spend a set amount of money per fiscal year.
It's nice to see the new Senators like Mike Lee and Rand Paul getting a coherent solution put together and supported. Of course this is a long way from being approved -- super majorities of the Senate and House have to approve the amendment before it is sent out to be ratified by the States. The good news however is, since so many State Legislatures were taken over by Republicans in the 2010 race, if the amendment can get out of Congress then it is almost assuredly going to be ratified.
Still a big if -- but it's just the beginning of gathering support for this. If statist "liberals" refuse to go along -- which they undoubtedly will -- they will have to be exposed and further voted out until this thing is passed. This has to be made the top priority and campaign issue alongside the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. This political one-two punch to the statist "liberals" will be the combination to knock them out of power and get the financial health of this nation turned around in short order.

Happy New Year, Happy New Congress
It's a new year, and finally a new Congress. While the new Republican majority in the House should prevent any more radical legislation from being shoved through, We the People cannot rest on our laurels and must continue to be vigilant and keep an eye on all of them, particularly the newcomers. The days of going about our lives and not worrying about what's going on in Washington, and our State capitals are over. Too much damage has been done and if we are going to prevent any more, let alone reversing the damage, we have to keep one eye on every move they are making.
With that said, today is a good day for America.

The difference between the political parties
For a long time I kept hearing "there is no difference between the parties" as a defense of why people were not being active in politics, or even not voting. I was doing some work online today and two back to back headlines struck home how wrong that notion is for anyone that still may have it.
The first was "Obama pushes DREAM act (aka amnesty for illegals) as lame duck session priority".
The second was "Republicans approve ban on earmarks".
One party wants to make a whole lot of illegals legal thereby encouraging more illegals to come and further collapse the social programs and health care system that are already bankrupt, the other party wants to stop earmarks and wasteful spending.
Which party appears to be listening to what the voters said on November 2? The Democrats haven't gotten the message yet. It's why they need another historic defeat in the next election as well until they learn that this nation is not Europe and wants nothing to do with their socialism and social experimentation upon the population at the expense of our fiscal future.

The Next Stage
So the elections are over, and there weren't very many surprises nationally (at least not for me). I was a bit appalled over Harry Reid being there still, but when people are convinced they want tyranny they're going to get it. (People wanting tyranny in California is much less surprising). The biggest surprise was the massive turnover in the state legislatures. That is what made this a total wipe out.
Now it's time to hold the feet of the people put into office to the fire and continue to push on for the next round of primaries. I'm also interested to see who declares their candidacy for President, as right now I'm not seeing anybody very appetizing (and the last round of bozos need to stay on the lecture circuit and out of campaigning).

Time to Tune out the Noise
It's time to tune out all the noise from the media and every other outlet and just prepare to get out and vote tomorrow. The polls where I live open at 6am and I plan on being one of the first people there. And I'm not a morning person, and I don't have to get up otherwise before nine or ten if I don't want to. I've been waiting for this day for a year and a half now. I don't have a Senate election here in my state, but just like the rest of you in the country, I have a House race and many other state and local races that need to be voted on. Tomorrow is bigger than the Super Bowl, World Series and any other event you can think of combined. Because it affects our lives in a very real manner. Our freedoms and our bank accounts are at stake here.
So tune out the noise whether one report says the Republicans are going to win a large majority, or the Democrats are making last minute charges. The media, just like anyone else, have their own agenda and they'll report accordingly using whatever spin they can muster in an attempt to get you to do what's in their best interest, instead of what's in your best interest. That worked in 2006 and 2008, but it's not working this year. The people are now awake and seeing what the media's anointed ones have done, and will continue to do to, this country if allowed to.
Let's not even make this close where there will be endless legal challenges and where fraud can determine the outcome. Make it a landslide. Get out and vote.
You vote does count.

Don't Say Your Vote Doesn't Count
Here in New Jersey we vote on the local level on school budgets. Most years the teacher's union wins their massive increases with rhetoric about "the children" while they continue to rake in what now surpasses private sector wages and pay nothing for their health and other benefits. This year however the feeling was quite different among the people with a new more responsible governor pushing back against the union, and all other kinds of out of control spending. So the local school districts took it upon themselves to try to authorize a massive increase in local property taxes.
In my town, the elementary school alone wanted 1.4 million dollars OVER and ABOVE regular base curriculum spending at a time when people have been out of work for six months or more in record numbers. In my town, the budget was defeated by TWO votes.
Two votes is going to force some actual responsibility from these people for once.
Now don't say your vote doesn't ever count for anything.
Across the state, nearly 60% of budgets were defeated in a promising sign that people are not going to put up with any more out of control spending from the local level all the way up to the federal government. Watch out come November.

Here We Go
So it begins. The United States has become just like the rest of the Socialist West. The entire political debate from now on will be centered around this disaster that is national health care. Every election will now be about first repealing it, then, if and when that fails, how to "fix" all the problems this monstrosity is going to cause.
Next up: legalizing all illegals so they can suck on this newly grown government teat, let them get legal jobs, so millions more illegals can come take the underground jobs they leave behind.
The slope this country has been sliding down to hell on has just gotten a lot steeper.
November is going to determine a lot. Unfortunately the road to getting rid of this monstrosity will involve getting a majority in the House, 60 votes in the Senate, and the Presidency as well. I'm not holding my breath for the courts to stop this nightmare.

Massachusetts Patriots Overcome the Drones
By this morning, anyone that reads or listens to any news knows that the voters in Massachusetts have sent a clear and loud notice to the Democrats that the electorate is angry and not going to be written off any longer.
Scott Brown defeated Martha Coakley in what many headlines have called "an epic upset". I would reject that view and put forth the headline "Massachusetts voters return to reality and remember the likes of Sam Adams and Paul Revere".
Already Democrats are doing what those of a leftist mentality do best. Point fingers at everybody but themselves. And others like Jim Webb of Virginia are in full panic mode and calling for no votes on health care until Brown is seated to look like they are in touch with the voters. Much, much too late Mr. Webb.
And this is just the beginning. Wait until November.

Christie Wins
In a sign of hope in this hopelessly liberal state, Chris Christie has become governor-elect (49%-44%) with 97% of the vote in. In a counter-weight to that, voters approved yet more borrowing to the tune of 400 million dollars in the referendum for the "purchase of open spaces" 51%-49%.
More borrowing does not equal lower taxes, people.
On the whole however, this is a victory. A five point win for a Republican in NJ is about the equivalent of the 20% margin down in Virginia. Dems in Congress, take note. You are in the cross-hairs politically speaking, for 2010.

Election Day
Well, the day is finally here when we get to take out our frustrations at the polls. I went early to get it done; I've been looking forward to this for about two months now.
I'm keeping a close eye on the governor races (especially the one here in NJ) and the special elections in California and New York. It's my hope that this is a repeat of 1993, and next year is 1994. Except this time, when the primaries roll around next year, we need to make sure the Republican party is represented by conservatives and not Fifth Column Republicans who are more interested in looking good to the lib media than actually doing what's right for our states and nation.
If you haven't voted yet, make sure you get out there and get it done. Even if you don't have a "big" race going on, it's still important that you make your voice heard in the local and state legislature contests. Every vote in your council or legislature matters in these perilous times.
Oh, and for all you idiots buying the line coming out of the lib media already that today isn't going to be a referendum on Obama, get your head out of your ass and wake up. I've seen Biden and Obama on TV and in my own state campaigning hard for these candidates because they KNOW how important it is to their image and that is IS a referendum upon them and their policies.
