All freedom loving educated individuals know that publications like the New York Times, Washington Post, and major network news are nothing but propaganda outlets for the Democratic party now. Now they're waking up to the reality that their supposed counterparts like the Wall Street Journal aren't any better in regards to their ability to live in reality.
Low-Road Conservatives
Indiana insurgents play Mickey-Mouse politics against Dick Lugar.
That's the title of one of their articles yesterday.
First we're hobbits, now we're Mickey Mouse. I don't buy the WSJ anymore for a good reason. Its opinion makers and writers are as out of touch as the NYT leftists. They want conservatives to fall in line when the general election comes time and vote for the team with the R cap, but they sure go into a tizzy whenever people actually want a say in a primary about who gets to run in that general election. Our vote is good enough come November, but the rest of the year we're supposed to sit down, shut up and sit in the corner so they can pretend we don't exist. Then they say there is no Republican establishment because they're the obvious conservatives and call us rodents or hobbits.
Lugar has outlived his usefulness, whether or not the fact that he no longer has a residence in Indiana is legal or not. Like the WSJ writers, he's been living in a place that is out of touch with the rest of the country too long and needs to be replaced. It's that simple. Yes, that's right guys, we all don't live in the fantasy lands of Washington DC or New York City. We live in reality and we're going to drag them kicking and screaming back into it as well. Whether they like it or not.

2012 Presidential Primary, March 15th
It's been hard for me to write updates on the 2012 Republican primary. Honestly, the entire process has made me sick to my stomach.
In a year where all the issues are falling on the side of conservatism, two of the four remaining candidates are spending the majority of their time smearing the other two instead of doing their due diligence in convincing me (and others) to vote for them.
Mitt Romney is the biggest offender, and Ron Paul is a close second. It was estimated in Florida that 95% of Romney's ads were negative attack ads against Gingrich instead of telling voters why they should vote for him. He did the same thing in 2008 against people like Fred Thompson, Rudy Giuliani, and Mike Huckabee.
And these millions spent on attacks and smears have prompted the need to respond, and not always in the best way, either. So instead of the issues, we talk about what might or might not be the truth about personal attacks, instead of where each man stands on the issues and how he's going to defeat Barack Obama, the socialist.
And this, more than anything, perhaps even more than his standing next to Ted Kennedy calling his "collaborator" on 'RomneyCare', is what makes it impossible for me to vote for Romney in this primary. And while I'm acutely aware that Obama needs to be defeated and will have to hold my nose and vote for him in the general election if he's the nominee, many, many people will refuse to do so because he has alienated so many people with his smugness and attitude. That number of alienated and pissed off people may exceed even the appalling number of 2008 when McCain was the coronated nominee by the elites in their own minds. Because unfortunately there are still many people who are not engaged and are uninformed, and don't realize the imminent danger of letting Obama be re-elected. And all those people see in Romney are a rich guy with good hair that thinks he's entitled to the nomination because he's "next in line".

So it was "Plan See I told you so"
So it wasn't Plan A, or Plan B. It was Plan "See I told you so". (Wish I could take credit for that, but that's the intellectual property of Rush, and his book by the similar name).
Anyway, as I've already gone through in the last post, that "Boehner plan" was just the vehicle for the Senate watering down of everything, and here we are, with that "great and wonderful" deal passed and the stock market is tanking by 250 plus points. Must be great, eh?
Just more of the same. No cuts this year, no cuts next year, and promises to cut miniscule amount starting in 2013 that will never materialize. Except maybe the military gutting part. The left wing radicals love gutting the military.
And of course we have the Ministry of Truth (otherwise known as the media such as the NY Times and Washington Post) running around saying this was a victory for the TEA party and fiscal conservatives while at the same time using the same inflammatory rhetoric like calling the fiscally sane among us terrorists and hostage takers showing their outrage that the hard left wasn't able to get even MORE tax increases on top of the massive Obamacare taxes slated to begin soon enough to run business even further into the ground. Meanwhile the EPA and other agencies are busy spitting out regulation after regulation shutting down power plants and coal mines and many other businesses under the radar.
The only sane people in this country left are those that are aligned with groups like the TEA party for spending cuts, baseline budgeting reform, and deregulation. While it's true that there's tens of millions of people already on the team, it's unfortunate that there's not nearly enough representation in Congress to reflect this large number of people. I just hope the weak and feckless leadership of the Republican party hasn't undermined the momentum of the movement. But from what I've seen, anger is dwarfing apathy, and there's going to be a lot of Republicans paying a huge price in the next Congressional elections. And I'll be just one of many of those people working to those ends.

More 2012 News
It looks like Sarah Palin is finally getting ready to enter the 2012 Republican Primary race. News is out now that she contracted with conservative filmmaker Stephen K. Bannon to produce a series of videos exposing all accomplishments and successes of her time in office as Alaska governor. The statist press that continually trashes her on a regular basis has never really quite gotten around to that ever, and would have people believe she sat around and did nothing for two and a half years other than running with McCain for the VP nomination in 2008.
Finally Palin will get a chance to tell her side of the story to a wider audience than she reached even with her best-selling books at a time when the race for the nomination is finally beginning to get started. Without the interruptions and trashing. With the entrance of Palin, and the anticipated entrance of Bachmann, that brings the race up to four excellent conservative choices, which is a far cry from the lonely one that 2008 saw in Fred Thompson.
The poll referenced in the previous post on political momentum showed Palin with almost universal name recognition but with only slightly over average positive momentum. Once she starts actively campaigning and she's out there in her own words more often, she will see that positive rating rise, as a big factor in her languishing where she is: the belief that she wasn't going to run.

Why the RNC is a failure
Today I got a "poll" in the mail from the Republican National Committee asking who I would prefer as presidential nomination for 2012 from their selected individuals. The reason I put poll in quotes is that it really is a donation seeking mailer.
Mostly the poll comes down to "would you vote for someone associated with the TEA party movement or no?"
Even after the landslide in November they have to ask whether people are on board with slashing spending to the bone and not raising taxes.
Add to this the fact that today is the 7th of March and they want the poll (and money) sent back by the 11th. Well, in case you haven't noticed guys, economic times are still bad, and people budget their money ahead a lot further than four days. Even if I was going to send money to the RNC (which I wouldn't), you better start giving people more than four days to come up with the $25 minimum you're begging for. Whoever you have doing this operation needs to be fired, along with a bunch of other idiots you have over there.
Intelligent people like me are going to give directly to candidates of their choosing, or to organizations like Senator Demint's Senate Conservatives Fund. Organizations that actually understand what people want, and it isn't more liberal RINO Republicans that the RNC has always supported, including in the 2010 elections.

Happy New Year, Happy New Congress
It's a new year, and finally a new Congress. While the new Republican majority in the House should prevent any more radical legislation from being shoved through, We the People cannot rest on our laurels and must continue to be vigilant and keep an eye on all of them, particularly the newcomers. The days of going about our lives and not worrying about what's going on in Washington, and our State capitals are over. Too much damage has been done and if we are going to prevent any more, let alone reversing the damage, we have to keep one eye on every move they are making.
With that said, today is a good day for America.

More on Republicans and the Two Party System
I've never been a fan of the two party system. Even when I was still a brainwashed liberal, I never registered Democrat. And taking a look at the state of the Republican party these days, when I moved and had to re-register to vote, I didn't register as a Republican either. For the longest time I've thought that the United States needed a viable third party. If I had my way all the RINOs like John McCain and Olympia Snowe would follow Arlen Specter down the winding left road to the Democratic party. Or for the actual conservatives that are still in the party to just leave and start a real Conservative party. But since neither of those are going to happen I've decided it's better for people like me to register Republican so we can get rid of these idiots during primary season.
It's something that needs to be done not only on the national stage, but even more importantly on the state and local levels. This slow floating to the left of the GOP is what has made it so susceptible to heavy losses over the past few election cycles. It hasn't just been about GWB. John McCain lost the 2008 presidential election because when uninformed, undecided people looked at him and Obama they saw pretty much the same "moderate" politician and more likely than not went with Obama just in the hope that he was going to be something different. Well, we all know how that is working out. Hell, I was informed about Obama and knew he was a radical, and I still had a hard time getting out and voting because McCain made me feel dirty just because he might as well be a Democrat himself. But at least he wasn't a radical left-wing Democrat.
The point is after that long rambling paragraph is what most conservatives already know but the party just doesn't seem to get: that the GOP needs to get back to the party roots and actually start nominating real conservatives again. They would be amazed at the results.

No, I'm not a Republican
But thanks for playing. I wouldn't want to associate myself with the wishy-washy, Charlie Brown nature of today's Republican party. People like Senator John McCain make me want to vomit. And I'm not the only one.
When articles are written in liberal biased media sources marveling that you are voting with your own party, there's something seriously wrong there.
I don't want to be associated with people that have no balls to stand up for what they believe in and not dilute good core conservativism with liberal policies. While compromise is sometimes necessary, you negotiate from a position of strength, not douche-bag weakness of "can't we all just be friends" liberal mentality.
The American people are busy fighting against this giant government intrusion of their personal freedom and liberty that this administration is calling "health care reform". The people have pushed the liberal agenda back on its heels. What does John McCain do? He comes out and undermines the whole thing by going on one of his "I want to work with my friends across the aisle..blahbnlahbnlahblahblah" rants. Senator McCain, please shut up. If the liberals want to commit political suicide by continuing to push something the majority of the nation does not want, let them do it. Don't get involved. You just allow the liberals to take you and the Republican party down with them. It's why the Republican party is pretty much a dead thing barely shuffling along at this point. You are indistinguishable from liberals because you continue to try to work with them instead of fighting back with the ideas of smaller government, less intrusion, lower taxes, et al.
When the Republican party gets its cajones back and stands up with what the party was founded on, perhaps then I might be able to identify myself as a formerly brainwashed liberal turned Republican. Until then, I'll just use the first part to idenitify myself.
